  • 18th Edition wiring regulations

    As of the 1st of January 2019 we are now working to the 18th edition of the wiring regulations, some significant changes have been made regarding RCD and surge protection across all installation.

    Surge protection is required to protect against transient over voltages from the distribution network and lighting strikes these devices will help protect to save lives and property, as we move forward we have more expensive equipment around our home and office, would you be able to afford to replace all of your electrical equipment in your home or office if it were to suffer from and over power surge or lightning strike.

  • Landlord safety certificate requirements 2020

    As of the 1 July 2020 it has become law for all properties in the private rented sector to have an electrical safety certificate in place for all new tenancies and any existing tenancies need to be tested by April 2021 , to do this an electrical installation condition report will need to be carried out to check the safety and condition of the wiring and its fixtures and fittings, some remedial works may be required to make the property safe for continued use.
